A guy that I work with has a 97 Sable and he needs to replace a relay in it. I haven't seen it personally but from what he tells me, there is some kind of fuse box behind a fuse box in the middle of the dash. The relay is in the second fuse box and he cant seem to get to it. Does anyone know how to get to these relays? Tell me if this doesn't sound right and I will get more information from him.

Thanks for your help,

my '97 has two fuse boxes. one under the dash, (drivers side) and one under the hood (mostly for larger relays and such). My '97 has the 3.0duratec engine, it may be different if he has the 3.0 vulcan motor.

I talked to him yesterday and he isn't sure what motor he has but he did tell me which relay was bad. It is the one that controls your interior lights. He said that whenever it gets humid, the dome light and other lights will not go off. Like the door is open.

Does this help any?

not a relay. had the same prob. spray WD-40 in the door latches( not the locks though). spray it in all four. mine has never done it since.man it was annoying, I had to keep the fuse pulled until I found this site and got that info. let me know.
