My service engine light came on today and it's not time for a service. I'm about 2,000 miles from it and I change it every 3,000 miles. Is there a way I can reset it without going back to the service shop? Thanks!

a service engine light on all vehicles 96 and newer is designed to indicate an emissions control problem..have you gotten fuel recently?

Yes but I'm down to a approximately 1/2 tank. I did fill up at a different station this time (Exxon 87 octane). I've never had this light come on in 100,457 miles.

dont't you need to use a diagnostic tool and pull the code from the computer?
