Strange light flashes on then off
 

Hi, there:
I have a 2001 Sable. Recently, I found a strange phenomenon. When I turned on the fan and lower the temperature for a while, the lights for "ABS" "Brake" and "Water pump" turn on. Then after I turned off the fan, the lights gradually turned off. What could be the possible reason?

Sounds like a short or bad ground. Do all those things seem to be working properly?

Thanks for the reply. The ABS and brake seem to work properly. The water pump doesn't seem to be bad, otherwise the engine will overheat. Is there any way for locate the bad grounding point?

So it is not when you turn the fan on, it's when you turn the temp down "for awhile?".

makes me think there is a voltage regulation issue. it's like the battery is dropping a cell for a while or the alternator is dropping out.

check the battery cables to make sure they're not loose or corroded and check the cables on the alternator for the same thing.
