upgrading 2002 Sable LS suspension?
#1
I have a 2002 Sable LS Premium with 34K miles. It''s in great condition and well maintained. I plan to put another 100K miles on the car and wanted to upgrade the suspension to be less gooey and more smooth on bumpy roads.
I recently got a sidewall hole in one of the OEM Continental tires and decided to replace all four tires with Michelin Primacy MXV4. The ride improvement has been significant. In a previous car, I replaced the OEM shocks/struts with KYBs and the ride improvement was unbelievable.
Any recommendations in terms of shocks/struts? Also, should I consider new springs? How much of a difference in ride can I expect? Anyone think I''m crazy.
Thanks in advance for your advice.

Years ago my wife complained of the ride of our 87 Sable. Her standard is Runs or Doesn''t Run. Very bad ride.
I had four Sensatracks installed. Transformed the ride and handling. Excellent upgrade.
Our 05 Sable LSP has a better set of struts. Not as good as they could be but Ok for now. I''ll consider Sensatracs down the road.

If it''s in the budget, swap the stock shocks and struts for an air bag system. Otherwise just go to different brand name suspension web sites and see their top of the line stuff. I wish I had a ''02 w/34,000 miles and was even able to consider such an upgrade. I can''t afford fuel man!!!!!!
