Hey guys hows it going? I just joined up because i have a really big favor to ask!

My dad who is very pour recently acquired a 1991 mercury Sable 3.8 V6. and it keeps having this problem where it just dies whiling driving!!

If my dad pulls off the inline filter he says it releases some pressure and gas and then he re-installs it and the car starts right up?

Any idea on a resolution for this problem? He has already replaced the filter.

could have a lack of fuel pressure (fuel pump), the pressure regulator may need replacing, the injectors may need cleaning, it may need a top end tune up (wires, plugs, rotor, cap, coil). It may also be some bad gas. basically, anything involving the fuel system or the ignition system is suspect at this point.
