Over 4,000 Miles around the Western US in a 1973 Mercury Marquis
 

A few years back, I took a cheap, beat-up 1973 Mercury on a very old-school loop trip of the Western US, up the coast to Seattle from San Diego and then back down through Idaho, Montana, and Nevada, No hotels, no freeways (except when you can't avoid it), no GPS. I've finally finished doing a travelogue/slideshow about it-- some of the pictures are pretty good, and it's by far the best story I have.
