91 Tracer LTS transaxle

High all. In a previous thread I was describing a shifting problem. I've since had the clutch replaced, and new bushings installed in the shifter linkage. So, I thought I would ask some of you a question. I need to replace the 5 speed transaxle in the car (91 tracer LTS, 1.8 engine). Problem is, I seem to be getting conflicting answers from people (Yards) who are suppose to be in the know with such things. What interchanges and fits this combo? My research has indicated several. They are:
90-94 Protege LX, and/or MX3
89-94 Mazda 323, Protege
94-97 Kia Sephia GS
91-96 Escort GT
The problem I keep having is that most of these guys don't want to commit to an answer for me. Even on EBay, the say, not sure. If someone could confirm what I've listed, or know of any other interchanges, it would be such a HUGE help. I've become disabled with a back injury and am now on a fixed income. So I need to be really sure that what I get will fit. Thank you so much for any help you can give!! Take Care!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i personally dont see why you cant find one from a manual transmission Escort in same body style. as far as i know, the tracer was sister to the Escort. the manual and auto transmission are set up differently... best advice i can give, is try junkyard and ripp a couple out and compare. i have to do this many times just to see what i can make work on my cars since i use mustang, mark7 and higher performance stuff in my Grand Marquis and Crown Victorias
