I have a 99 tracer.

Hard Starts in the Cold mornings. If I try to excel at Low RPM it will sputter. It started happening about a month and a half ago andit has gottenworse over the last week. I am leaning towards Timing belt replacement and or Cleaning, replacing most parts that I can. I am guessing, somehow, the Timing jumped. I was hoping it hada chain because those have guides that go out.

I don't understand how the Timing belts or Timing Jumps perse, can anyone explain?

Would this be a good place to start?
