I have a problem with an 02 villager cruise control. works for a while the set light flashes, cruise stops working, will reset if engine is turned off and then back on. Is there a self test built into the unit, would like to run it if there is. |
I did some checking around. you may need to check the vacuum lines (if any) that go to the brake pedal deactivation switch or the switch itself. I''ve seen a few other posts online that said replacing the switch fixed the problems.

I had the issue that my cruise worked, and stopped completely intermittend. I had to turn it on (while driving) to reactivate, till it turned itself off again. Cause seemed to have been dirt below the switches. I took them out (remember, in your case, 7 years of use), cleaned them and put them back on. Now they work flawless. But BE CAREFULL: Disconnet the battery at least 15 minutes to have the airbag system come down! Greetings! |
ah... the advantages of an old 88 MGM... no airbags to worry about when working on the old beast.
of course, that also means no airbags to protect you in case of a crash. |
Well, if you get into a crash with an ''88, isn''t there a dash light telling you that you just hit something??? Greetings! |
