Two days ago the dash lights started coming on every time I depressed the brake pedal on my 1997 Villager. I'm sure its a warning (similar to turn signal light going solid when a bulb is burnt out), but I don't know for what. Upon turning on the park lights, the rear lights come on bright, just as if I was depressing the brake pedal. When I do hit the brake pedal with the park lights on, there is no change in brightness. I checked throught the owners manual, but there is no mention of what this could be. The only thing I could think of was one or both of the tail lights may be burned out, but that doesn't seem likely (I'm on my way out to check it).

Also, the day before the cruise control started malfunctioning intermittently. Considering the timing of these two events, could they be related?

I Believe at one point there was a recall for rear tailamp sockets or harness wiring to the rear lamps. Im not sure what years it effected if you get a change post your vin number and ill check and see if i can find any info for you
