how to reconnect the A/C lines 1994 Villager

Does anyone here know how to reconnect the A/C lines on a 1994 Villager?
They are o shaped spring clips and one broke so I replaced it. One side has a flanged end and the AC hose side (High pressure) has a kinda bell shape area where this spring is suppose to fit under and hold the AC line onto the flange side.
