mercury villager wont fire cold start
#1
I have a 93 villager that I have been having problems with for about2 months. On a cold start thevan's engine turns over but it won't fire up. Upon turning the key again it usually fires and the engine starts. Sometimes it will take 2 and even 3 tries to start it. Once it does start up and I shut it off again it will start on the first try everytime. However, if I shut it off for more then 2 hours I'm back where I started andthe engine will turn but it won't start.

Sound to me like it might be a fuel delivery problem. You're not getting a good enough prime the first time you turn the key. Try turning the key to the on position for a few seconds. Then turn it over. I would also suggest changing the fuel filter if you haven't already. If those tow things dont work it might be time for a new fuel pump.
