rough idle

Hi,
2000 mercury villager 156,000 miles. its having a rough idle with high neg. fuel trim (-10 to -18) . my question is if its the distributor or not. can anyone tell me if this is normal http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6aJUO...ature=youtu.be ( the arching starts at .11)

I'm not sure if the arching means a bad distributor or if its normal seeing that the arch is coming out of the tower, it has to go somewhere right? or is it not suppose to arch at all?

I don't have anything to compare it to so if anyone can tell me if this is normal or not,
thanks

Yes, the arcing is normal with the distributor cap is off. The current will jump to the nearest ground if it is strong enough.
