Torque converter problem?
#1
Not sure about this one, but speedometer starts acting up (teetering) slightly around 50mph usually when its very cold outside ~ zero degrees. then car may act slow to shift gears, but still shifts though. sometimes speedometer goes to zero then car may just stall at times. This happens only once and a while. Other times the cruise control shuts off when speedometer acts up. Once there is a slight jerk when going 50 and up mph This was last winter. Then next 5 minutes problems seem to go away.
Sometimes there are no problems for weeks. In fact car ran great all spring and summer long now that cold weather is back problems have come and gone.
These problems only happen once and a while. Most of the time this vehicle runs wonderful. problem first occured about a year or so ago.
No check engines lights are on.
car has 79,000 miles on it.
Any thoughts on this one would be appreciated a lot.

it could be the throttle position sensor, could be the speed sensor, could the the torque converter, could be the voltage regulator, could be the battery (like I already mentioned), could be the MAF sensor, could be the vacuum pressure sensor, could be...
the list goes on. did you check the battery? It''s best to start with the simple things.

In my 98 a while back we went through something similar, except it would just do nothing but vibrate then put it in neutral and it would seem to stop. Well after countless money spent and many mechanics looking at it we found out that the back engine mount bolt broke. . . just food for thought.
