Anyone know what the size of the front door speakers are?

My rig is a 2006 Grand Marquis Ultimate.

It came with a single CD in-dash unit that I replaced with a pioneer in-dash mp3 CD unit. I replaced the rear speakers as they sounded horrible. I promptly found out that the rear speakers were not the 6X9's that online info had told me... Pretty sure they were 6x8's. I made the 6x9's fit anyway, but I'd like to avoid trying to make alterations to the doors and want to keep the factory look.

Any help that can be given would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

The fronts are are 6x8 just like the rears.

I ended up ditching the pioneer head unit in favor of a jvc unit. With pioneer speakers all around and the new head unit, the sound is just short of perfect.

Pioneer's mid-grade units just aren't what they were 4 years ago when I installed the one in my 98 GM. The sound was awful even after installing new speakers and fiddling with the adjustments for 3 weeks.

The JVC unit is a lower end JVC, but the sound is full, hits hard and is crystal clear. The menu navigation is miserable, display colors to "loud" and the remote is too small, but for the sound quality, I can live with those shortfalls.

I was going to get the HD JVC unit, but with a 15 day no questions return policy (local shop), I figured I'd spend $100 to see what the cheaper one sounds like vs $180.
