Default 1992 XR2 problems

Hello. About 2 months ago, I bought a 1992 Capri XR2 for about $500. She ran beautifully. However, recently I took out the air intake to replace the filter and to clean it, but when I put it back in, she stopped starting. I probably put it back in wrong, but can someone provide me a guide so I can put the intake back in correctly? I don't want to risk messing something up and damage anything. Any help is welcome!

do you mean not starting by not turning over at all (just clicks) or cranks but won't fire?

if just clicks... check the battery and cables to/from the starter. make sure the battery terminals are good and snug. You shouldn't be able to move them with your hand if they're on properly (unless you're a human wrench - I've known a few guys with really strong hands that could loosen bolts without tools - scary guys to shake hands with).

If it's cranking but not firing, check the wires and coil. Make sure everything is snug and connected properly. You might have knocked something loose. Check all the connections along the intake (MAF sensor if equipped - MAF may be dead too). Check to make sure the ignition module on the distributor (if equipped) is connected.

I'm not sure about your specific vehicle, but those are the basic checks I can think of off the top of my head.
