I bought a "proper" wiring harness from walmart that said it supported the 1991 mercury cougar LS and XR7 and then when I went to wire it up, only the power adapter fit, not the speaker harness. Anyone know where I can the wiring guide for the initial radio setup? As well as a mounting kit for aftermarket radios...thanks!

 

just dealt with this same issue in my 95 xr7... just cut the plug off and plice the wires that way... i tried and tried to find the adapter and had zero luck... it is a risky thing to wire direct but if you take the propper cautions and do it with care you can have a nice sound system in the end bro...

 

One word, WALMART!! You can always get the correct adaptor/harness, etc. at the junkyard Ross. Good luck.
