I have a 1991 mercury cougar in great running shape, the interior is still in great condition, the paint job isnt bad at all, has a few scratches here and there, front grill has a little paint ware, and the winshield has a slightcrack but not big enough toobstruct vision or cause a break.but i still am not sure how much i could get out of it, the transmission was rebuilt about a couple years ago, it has a brand new starter, and battery. How much do you think i could get for my cougar?

nice looking car from what I can see. try it on ebay for 1500 bucks. with listing ans selling fees you will walk away with about 12-1300 bucks if it sells for 1500

The transmission has been rebuilt a few years ago, but when that happened it had 167,000 miles on it, how big of a factor will that play on selling it?

thats a loaded question. mainly because you are now selling to a different group of people because of the mileage. Personally I have 269,000 miles on my car. It runs great, so i would purchase another car that had high miles. Sometimes people get scared because of the miles. So just tell them that everything is in perfect working order, if it is and let them know that a high mileage car has already had most of the parts replaced. So it can actually be a better car that has less problems then a car with fewer miles that has not had those par ts replaced yet. Just tell the truth about the car. How much do you want to get for the car? then go from there. ebay will sell fast but there are fees to sell it.

auto trans or was the manual trans rebuilt?

Have you checked ebay and done a comparrision to see how much these are going for? the hot items on ebay are 6 and 4 cylinder cars. you should sell it fast and get a good penny for it. you can set a reserve price for the car. this means it ionly sells if you get what yyou think it is worth. try to sell it here!
