Thank you for taking the time to read about my car''s foolish issue. My "baby" is a 2002 V6 5 Speed Cougar. The check engine light is on, and I''m reading 2 codes. EGR Flow Insufficient, and EGR Flow Excessive. I had my EGR Valve replaced, but the codes just keep returning when reset, and just to see, replaced my spark plugs. The REAL issue is this...when I am at an idling 2000 rpm''s, my car seems to, well, st..stutt...stutter. So...anyone have any thoughts as to what might be ailing the greatest car that I have ever owned??? (Don''t worry, I know I''m young, and the car''s just keep getting greater!)

hello, if i remember correctly your car also has a egr sensor. it is different from the egr valve.

make sure the original replacement was put in correctly and that it was not a bad part.

2000 RPM is very high for an idle. Have your whole exhaust gas recirculation system checked over. My egr code ended up being a disconnected vaccuum line. Auto or 5-speed?
