A little bit of clutch problems

Ok, so i drive a 1999 Mercury Cougar 2.5L V6 engine 5-speed manual/
for some reason when i go to switch to 2nd gear and have it in all the way, every now and then it goes and pops out of gear and makes this really bad f**ked up sound. does anyone think i need to replace my whole clutch system or just one of the gears?
