Hey everyone, this is a great looking forum. I recently came across one of those rare finds in the auto world, that everyone hears about but few get. I bought a rare'85 cougar XR-7 turbo with a 5 speed from a guy that I've worked with for twelve years. Though I've worked with him I hadn't seen the car until last August. The car has 9200 actual miles and has never seen rain. It still has the original tires installed. This guy loved the car but his health has made it hard to get the car in and out of his very tricky garage (very small and on an incline, the car had to be pushed in by hand then wheels chaulked). Anyway I bought the car in Sept. and have enjoyed it, but it isn't practical for me to keep the car right now. So reluctantly I listed the car on ebay. Check out auction #4592950300 this is truly a beautiful car.

I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN BY RARE, BUT YOU MUST MEAN THAT IT HAD UNDER 10,000 MILES ON IT CAUSE FORD MADE PLENTY OF T-BIRDS AND COUGARS WITH TURBO CHARGED ENGINES WITH STANDARD TRANSMISSIONS. I'D LIKE TO SEE IT SO I'M GOIN' TO E-BAY.I BET YOU COULD GET MORE FOR IT IF YOU SELL IT PRIVATELY.

Actually, the xr7 cougar from 89-90 was the second most sought after cougar line. The 84-86 were the ones to have.I wouldn't neccessarilly classify as rare, but, they were only produced in limited numbers.

see http://www.coolcats.net/welcome/xr7series.html

see last line under "limited production".Edited by: Lenny
