RPMs go up when i push in the clutch???
#1
Hey guys, I’m trying to diagnose what is going on with my
car. The dealer is closed at this hour and the problem started just today.
I was driving and all of a sudden my check engine light pops
on, immediately I begin analyzing every sound and bump my car makes. The car
seems to run fine in 5th and 4th gear but when I’m in the
lower gears 1 – 2 – 3 gears it drives fine. But when I push in the clutch to shift
the RPM’s Go up to about 3k and then slowly idle down. If I just sit in neutral
and push in the gas the engine goes down back to about 1k, it seems only after I
start in 1st gear and specifically when I shift from 2nd to
3rd gear.
Tomorrow I’ll probably call the dealer and see what their thoughts
are. Any ideas in the mean time…
Oh BTW it’s a 2000 Cougar.
