How hard is it to change a heater core in this 91 cougar it has a 5.0L v8 the manual says you have to remove the steering column and the enitire dash has to come all the way off is this correct or is there another way to do it

I would take it in and have the oil pressure checked with a direct reading gage which goes into the hole where the transmiter is located. If the direct pressure gage does the same as the one that is in the vehicle then you either have a pump going out or worn bearings which in some cars can be changed with the engine in the car.You will need to look at a maintenance manual to see if it can be done on your camaro.Good luck.

I don't know how different yours is from the 88 cougar but according to this website I found it sounds about the same.

Try this website: http://www.coolcats.net/tech/trouble...eatercore.html
