97 sable tranny trouble

Ok my transmission this morning decided that after 1 block that it only wanted to go in reverse. No bang or boom it just refused to stay in first (shes an automatic) I got her home let her idel in neautral for a half hour fluid level was fine and now she shifts flawlessly between gears? Please help.
