I got into my Sable this evening and turned the key and it just turns and turns. Won't turn over and start though. The theft light blinks rapidly when the key is turned on. I'm thinking that the theft sensor has shut down the vehicle. I have no spark and no fuel. Does anyone know of any way of resetting this. I've used my chipped key and it doesn't matter. Thanks for any advice.

Have you found out what your problem is or was? My 97 sable is doing the same thing.


I've changed out the cam and crank sensors, the ecm, all relays and fuses, and double grounded everthing, and still no spark or fuel pump kicking on.

 

maybe the anti theft system is turning on and not allowing the car to start for some reason. Try scanning it first for codes. Also if you have a chip in your key that hardware storekey won''t disengage the anti theft. Most shops charge 1 hours diagnostic for a scan and diagnose. try that or can youremember what events lead up to this before it wouldn''t. You might also want to check the connector for the electricalportion of the ignition switch. The wires can get either loosened up or the connector can go bad all together causing this same problem.
