Oil Dipstick handle broke off, how to remove the dipstick now?
2000 Mystique - I broke off the handle, now I'm asking how you can fish out the remains? Search's have turned up any thing from using an industrial strength vacuum to chewing gum and a paper clip.

if you can see the stick isn't too far down, try reaching it with some needle nose pliers. If it really is loose and fell down inside out of reach, a good magnet (like on those telescoping screwdrivers) might get it. of course, there's always the hard way of removing the oil pan and pulling it down out the bottom of the car.

many times the dipstick tube is bolted or attached in one place and after the bolt or nut is removed, the dipstick tube will pop out. when reinserting tube, i would replace the "O" ring on it and make sure it seats down in there all the way or it will eak out where it fits.

Thanks guys, I did try to pry it up a bit with a very small screw driver, I was hoping to grab it a pair of needle nose pliers and wound up pushing it about an inch down into the tube. Where it is now, that's when I posted up. I've read somewhere on the net that you may be able to remove the tube where it goes into the oil pan and push it back out the top. I haven't tried that yet. Is that possible or is just bs?

Thanks to all you guys for your help. I've got it out. I took a Dremel tool and cut down the side of the tube about an inch and half. The dipstick still has a hard plastic nub about half inch long that encases the blade. I got the screw driver under the nub and pushed it out.
