That's the mix we have here in the states for many years now. I have not had any problems since it was introduced. You may experience a small decrease in your overall MPG. It can be corrosive but there's not much you can do about it.Small engines and two cycle engines in lawn equipment seem to be the most problematic because many people leave the fuel in over the winter and find out that the fuel has gummed up the carb.

Default '85 Grand Marquis -- Ethanol Fuels

'95 MERC at Flaming Gorge, Utah.
Hello, Gert -- and welcome to the Mercury Forums.
Your '85 Grand Marquis' 302, TBI should have no problems with the 10% ethanol -- we have used it here in the USA for decades.
A few suggestions for top performance and fuel mileage:
AFTER you have run two (2) tankfuls of the 10% ethanol --
Install new fuel filter.
With engine running, spray carb cleaner into the Throttle Body to remove deposits.
Check Ignition Timing -- set to factory specs.
"Regular" gas is the right stuff -- no hi-octane fuel is required.
In high-humidity areas, ethanol gasoline blends tend to "separate" and form "gums" in the fuel system.
To keep the fuel system clean and eliminate gummy deposits, I add a 20-ounce (590 mL) bottle of TECHRON Complete Fuel System Cleaner
every 5,000 miles. It's the best product of it's type that I've ever used, and I recommend it to all customers.
I get the TECHRON (by the 6-bottle case) from Amazon.com -- may not be available in The Netherlands.
Good luck -- and keep us posted with your results.
