1990 tranny question
Hey guys.
So I just bought myself a 1990 grand marquis for use as a daily driver. I love the car but today I had a problem. I was driving to work (80 mph) and when I exited it acted like it never shifted out of overdrive. It was lunging like it never shifted out of high gear. Then all the sudden it was acting like in nuetral. I downshifted to drive and all was fine. Shifted back to overdrive and still seemed good. So.....what the hell? Is my tranny shot?

you would have to look under the hood at something VERY vital to the transmission... where the throttle body is, there is a cable that connects to it... have a person sit in car with it off and have them press gas pedal... when doing so, the gas pedal cable goes toward firewall and other side of it comes forward... there should be a cable there also that controls transmission pressure... if it falls off, it can fry the transmission... i will attempt to get pictures to show you if needed
