Default 1997 mercury grand marquis Crank no start

I replaced the fuel pump with an aftermarket pump, so the fuel gauge isn’t accurate and replaced the fuel filter a while ago. The car randomly cranks no starts and after sitting for a day or two it will start right up. I’m trying to pinpoint the problem area. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Default Hope this helps

I would start by checking the computer for codes then I would go through the wiring especially under the hood where the fuse boxes are they might be a little corroded or something

thanks for the advice, I’m going to check now. I did have a code p430 right bank threshold low. I believe my primary cat will need to be replaced. Thanks again!
