Default 1998 Grand Marq. LS -- Turn Signal, Hazard, Cruise Control

Hey,

Proud new owner of a Grand Marquis as of 3 months ago. Was elderly kept, pristine inside and out.

Just took it on a 300 mile trip, and a series of things happened within the same day.

**1) Cruise Control worked once, and then didn't work again:::: Used it at the start of the trip that morning, stopped for gas, jumped back on the interstate, attempted to resume... no dice. I've hit the Off Switch several times, and have tried to re-engage it. No Dice. I also thought that the cruise switches on the steering wheel should light up with a green back glow, our old one did, as does our excursion and expedition. There is NO green back glow now to the cruise switches.

**2) Turn signals stopped working::: I get no turn flash on my IPC(Instrument Panel), nor an audible click of the relay. Headlamps work, rear running lamps work when lights are on, brake lights work, and Turning Curb Lamps Work (Lights on the side that lights the curb as you turn) when engaged left/right, But there is no external action from the rear lights, or front bulbs when turn signal switch is engaged left/right. ((((For the record, PARKING LAMPS do illuminate the yellow turn housings, turn switch still does NOT blink left/right even with parking lamps on;; Curb Lamps Still Illuminate Left/Right)))

**3) Hazard Lights Donot Work::: Just to check, I also hit the hazard switch to see if it would illuminate the lamps, they also donot work. No audible click, No Turn Signals on IPC, and nothing external to show they are working.

**4) Rear Left-Passenger Window Motor::: Goes down quick, now refuses to go up. When UP is pressed, a audible cycling whirring sound can be heard, if you place your hand on the window, you can feel it moving slightly. Had to take a pair of pliers and drag the window up.

----------------------

*** I have checked all the fuses under the driver side firewall foot well, nothing is blown. I checked the manual, and found the appropriate fuses, none of them are blown. For giggles, I even replaced the appropriate ones regardless, still didn't fix the issue.

All of these symptoms happened all together. The day before the trip, windows worked, turn signals worked. The only thing that was changed in routine, was the use of the Cruise Control, as I donot use it in the city, and right after that first use, turning the car off to fuel, and re-entering the highway, immediately all of these issues started at the same time.

Any help would be had.

Thanks.

Regarding the lights, check if hazard switch on steering column is stuck. Had some of your problems and was advised to spay a little wd 40 on switch and work back a and forth a little. Fixed the problem immediately.
