Hello all. I am brand new to this forum. I have a 97 and was also wondering the same thing. It seems to me that you would just be able to throw generic ford 4.6L bolt on upgrades for a little extra kick.

J-mod to help the transmission shift smoother.
Cold air intake. Not a pod filter but the actual thing.
synthetic oil.
Now if you want the car to actually accelerate faster changing the Differential gears .
Then this is the one that will mostly cost a centrifugal supercharger or go with a Turbo. But then again for that you might want to have a stronger engine. I think the stock engines could only get up to 8 psi of boost.
Also I don't believe your car has the PI heads. PI= performance improved. Which are the same ones which were sold in the Crown Vics p71. These would also require an intake manifold replacement to the newer ones . So if you do that make sure it has the metal coolant passage instead of the plastic one.
