4.6 Litre vs. 302 cu.in.
Can't do "tougher" -- there's no accurate way to measure for it.
1.- 281 cubic inches vs. 302 cubic inches.
2.- Overhead Cam vs. Cam in Block.
'95 MERC Engine Bay.
3.- Aluminum Heads vs. Cast Iron Heads.
4.- 4.6 Litre - Superior Cooling System.
5.- 4.6 Litre - Superior Oiling System.
Both of these engines were produced for many years, and have proven their "toughness"
for millions of miles as passenger cars, taxis, police duty, pickup trucks, and vans.
I prefer the 4.6 Litre engine, due to it's lighter weight and more modern design.
