I have a 84 Grand Marquis that is not starting. It is getting spark and
fuel but all it dose is turn over kind of slow. What it did is I was driving it and it just died and would not start again.

Have you checked the engine and battery?

If it is a new battery, check the cables and make sure they are tight. a new battery can be defective, get it checked at the store like autozone.

check the volts on the battery with a volt meter. then check the volts at the starter. meters run about 10-50 bucks for cheap to good ones

I did everything mentioned above. One thing I did not mention it dose is
it only gets spark at the coil when you first try and start it then no spark.

does this have eight coils ore one. Are the eight coils mounted on the valve covers or are they in packs of four?

I would take off the coils or coil and have the resistence checked at a parts store. Have them check the whole thing.i know autozone does it for free!

Only one and I took the one coil in and had the resistance checked.
