I have a 97 Grand Marquis with 126K. I bought the car used and have had it for 6 months. My high beams and hazards have never worked.

If I push down the button on the steering column for my hazards my blinkers stop working but I don't get any flashing.

If I mess with the lever for my high beams I can sometimes get them to blink but that is it. I'm assuming this is some kind of electrical problem, I am hoping this is common and a cheap fix.

Any ideas?

</>Checked all fuses already. How much is a signal switch, hard to install?

Also my headlights are super dim and I have silverstar ultras. I think I read to rub it with rubbing compound because the plastic yellows with time. I assume I do this on the outside of the unit? < =text/> _uacct = "UA-939292-45"; urchinTracker(); </>

correct on cleaning of the exterior of lenses. signal switch isnt that hard... pull column cover off and get to the switch that way. i would disconnect the battery to avoid air bag issues.
