98 marquis brake light issue...im stumped
so i did a search and couldnt find any info on this here. so time to post and see if i can get some help. i recently purchased a 1998 Grand Marquis LS. the car has lil over 250k miles but has been taken care of very well. my problem is my brake lights do not light up when the brakes are applied. of course i did the typical fuse and bulb check right way and all is fine there. i then replaced the brake switch on the brake pedal seeing how it was only $8. a friend said he had one with same issue before and was the LCM (light control module). so i prayed as i payed for it that it would fix it. but to my luck, still nothing. ive also noticed that my hazard lights do not work. someone suggested that it may be that switch causing my issue. every bulb lights up when running lights are turned on. so i cant see it being the sockets or the wires themselves. anyone have any suggestions before i have to spend hundreds of dollars and take it to a garage for something that will prob be a simple fix.

Have you checked the hazard switch on your steering column. Sounds like the same problem I had. Checked the LCM but that didn't fix it. Got a hint: check your hazard switch. They have a tendency to stick. Spray some WD 40 and push it in and out. Then try your lights. Kazam, they worked immediately.
