best thing for a start is to change the rearend gears. i have a post about this and describes the differences and how to identify what you have.

well, we have one 2 door Crown Vic with 2.73 trac-lok under it so it will be a hwy car along with the 1989 Crown Vic we got. my project 2 door is gonna be a beast and be probably the fastest Crown Vic in my area besides being rare. these cars are luxury rides, but it is fun to let people think they are slow and then blow their doors off. i like the older Panthers personally since they have the 5.0.i like the 1986 and 1987 models the best. i find them cheap and fix them up and have fun with impressing people with the capabilities.

nthe bigger wheels hurt the suspension on these cars. i have seen a car that had the igger wheels and suspension was chewed up and rearend got chewed up also. it needed all new parts. best to just change wheels to a stadard type size or go with a mustnag wheel that would look good. i belong to other sites about these cars and have seen nice cars be made.
