fuel tank removal
2000 Grand Marquis
I have the tank almost entirely removed but I have hit a stump. The Chilton manual says to unplug the wiring harness leading into the tank with a screwdriver. There are no plugs to unplug. The wires leading into the tank are go into a plastic flange that sits flush on the tank. Do I pry this flange out of the tank? Thanks for any help you can give! |
Found it! Mercury did me no favors when they assembled this car. The wiring bundle went out of site up on a support beam under the floor of the trunk. By working a pry bar between the beam and the trunk flooring and prying it apart...I was able to drag it out to unplug it. It was literally wedged. Thanks anyway!
