Angry Grand Marquis 2007

Last week while driving down the highway, the serpentine belt of my grand marquis broke, I pulled out as soon as I realized the AC is gone and as i was pulling out i noticed the battery indicator coming on and temperature gauge went up. switched off vehicle immediately.

I'm concerned if this has caused any damage to the engine.

As of now I have not noticed any smoke or any changes in the engine oil or coolant.

Check engine light is on with these codes and intermittently in the first few minutes of the run i get battery light also on (P0622, P0182 and P1285)

Kindly advice.

The codes likely are all related. The P1285 is the most concerning which does indicate an overheated condition. Hopefully, you didn't boil over. I would clear the codes and keep daily checks of your coolant and oil conditions for a while. Myself, if my engine ever over heated, I would change the oil and filter.Good luck with it.
Just curious, how many miles on that belt?

hi raski,
thanks for the reply.

Yes i hope nothing is burnt or boiled... as soon as i pulled out of the road i logged into see the readings the coolant temp was showing 109 degree celcius

The belt ran for about 70,000 miles
