My 1993 MGM didn't start the other day, had it towed to my mechanic, he had it for a day, fixed it and informed me that nit was the thermostat, it evidently got hot and the car wouldn't start, he said it snapped in half, what snapped in half I didn't ask, and I should have, because today, I pulled it out of the drive way to make way for another car and when I went to start it again and put it back, it wouldn't start again, it wants to start but it just turns over and over, does anyone have any idea how a thermostat or something connected to a thermostat can stop a car from starting?

It's not liklely it was the thermostat. I've never seen one snap in half either (not even sure what that means).

If it turns over but won't start you either have no spark or no fuel. I'd check the spark first. If you car has a TFI ingition module (a gray or black plastic module on the side of the distributor) then that would be my first guess.
