My 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis has manual controls. The A/C works fine and blows nice cold air. However the fan control switch is broken and the shaft that rotates between low speed fan and high speed fan no longer rotates and is stuck on low fan speed. I pulled off the **** and tried to turn the shaft of the fan control switch with a pair of pliers - no luck - frozen. I see that the replacement OEM part (W0133-1948526) is less than $30.


My question is, how do I remove the broken fan control switch and replace it with the new one? It looks like "plug and play" but how do I get the old fan control switch out? Any reference diagrams along with "how to" will be most appreciated.
