I have a 2003 Grand Marquis with 175,000 miles. All of the air comes out the floor and defrost vents, I bought a used control head and had it installed and the result was the same. Anyone have any idea on what to check next? In the winter the air coming out the floor and defrost works OK. In the summer it causes the windshield to fog up and does not cool the car very fast. The mechanic canget the vents to change with a hand held vacuum pump, but otherwise all the air comes out the top and bottom.

the vent director is stuck in the defrost mix setting. either the ducting is jammed or the vacuum actuator is in need of replacing or vacuum lines to it need to be fixed. this will require access behind the dash. whether that can be done from underneath or by removing the center controls is beyond my knowledge. I have much older cars.

Much Thanks, Slymer, I will see what I can do or get a friend who has his own shop to look into it. Again thanks. Mark Schnuatz
