Iridium Spark Plugs for '95-'97 Grand Marquis

1 Attachment(s)
I chose BOSCH #9605 plugs because of their unique DOUBLE-IRIDIUM design, and because Bosch worked with FOMOCO to design and build the ignition-fuel engine management system that is used in the '95, '96,and '97 CrownVic, Marquis, and Town Cars with the SOHC 4.6 liter engine.

Tip: When installing your new Iridium plugs, DO NOT use any sort of "anti-seize" compound !! The Bosch #9605 plugs are plated to prevent seizure.
Blow out the plug holes with compressed air BEFORE you remove the old plugs, and AGAIN with the old plugs removed.
Apply a bit of synthetic engine oil to the plug threads, and screw in the new plugs with a piece of 3/8ths-inch ID rubber hose slipped over the plug's insulator.
I used a Craftsman Inch-Pound Torque Wrench, set at 160 inch-pounds, to assure proper heat transfer from the plug to the cylinder head.

After having over 24,000 miles on the current set of 9605 plugs -- still going strong, with excellent power and fuel mileage, too.
