I've had my 2000 Grand Marquis (143K) for 8 years and have no complaints about her comfortable competence in carrying my butt wherever I point her.

But I'm thinking of modding her, improving the brakes, engine and suspension without straying too far from the amazing comfort I'm so used to. So...

Is it possible to simply drop the front suspension, spindles and hubs from a 2003+ into my 2000, or will more drastic measures be called for? I'm looking at going to 17" wheels so I can fit bigger brakes to match the power I'm looking at adding. (I don't have MMR on the speed dial yet, but their parts are key to what I want to do) Add in new shocks and such, a refreshing of the interior and stripping the many coats of paint she came to me with so I don't have to watch her exfoliate any more...

And she's golden!

Hello, and welcome to the Mercury Forums --
Your 2000 Grand Marquis is a bit different from the famous 95 MERC, but a lot of parts are the same --
Here is a list of modifications that may interest you:
1995 Grand Marquis Restoration - Mercury Forum - Mercury Enthusiasts Forums
I got most of the parts from Amazon.com and RockAuto.com.
TIP : NEVER buy spark plugs from Amazon.com -- too many counterfiets !!
Check the part numbers before ordering.
I'll answer any questions that I can -- Good Luck !!
