I baught a 2004 Grand Marquis and it came without remotes. I baught two new ones meant for this vehicle with instructions on how to program them. When going through the procedure, the car locks do not respond (several steps ending with turning the car from off to on...(not start) four times leaving it in the "ON" position...the locks are supossed to cycle and they do not.

Is there a module that the remote commands that controls all of the locks and a seperate one for the trunk....or is there a seperate module for each location?

I am at a loss. Any help is appreciated.

At a time when keyless remotes are standard on just about every car made its hard to understand that this system is an OPTION on the GMQ. I just bought a 2006 last Saturday and it doesn't have this system either. The owner's manual refers to it as "if equipped".

 

I have a 2001 GMQ LSE and did the exact same thing as you with NO response from my veh. It even has an after market remote start system and it won`t respond to the aftermarket directions to program new keyfobs to it...So instead of screwing something up and making it worse or having it not even start I`m just leaving it as is....
