@JOHxxx:

That looks exactly like my wiring. The white mounting tab goes into the supporting beam which you can see in your 2nd picture, right below the hole where the back part of the light is mounted.

My plug faces downwards, and accomondates the TT-harness for the sidemarker/corner lights and the parking/turning lights in the bumper.

Now this is the original setup. Similar vehicles, like the Lincoln Towncar, were available with corner lights mounted in the bumper. It could be possible that the harness is from one of those.

Either way, turn on your headlights/turn signal and check for power. That''s the easiest way to figure out if and when power is applied.

Greetings!

Hello 92merc!!!

I think that at one time this had a different harness put it. Not by the current owner, but someone else. This is not a harness for this car. this is probably why it does not work. I bet if the wire was traced back it is not connected to a power for these since this did not have the corner lights mounted as stated.

This has been a good question, I hope someone helps out.

92Mercury,

You hit the nail on the head as they say. My wiring was exactly like what you described. Once I spliced in new wire where the old had been cut in the accident, everything lit up perfectly.

Thanks for the help everybody.
