Sorry if this is a dumb response, but I also have a 2004 Marquis. I've noticed when I have the "AUTO" climate control on, air does not come out the "front" vents; it just comes out the heater vents. When I switch it to "vent" mode, it obviously comes out the vents.

Once I bought the car and discovered this, I was kinda disappointed that I can't have climate control on with the cold or hot air coming out the vents. Oh well, just one little thing. Otherwise the car is awesome!

Hope that helps.

Well, I just got mine so I'm not too much help, but in every other car I've had, when this happens it's nearly always a vacuum line that is loose, leaking or disconnected. Look under the hood for little plastic or rubber hoses that might be the cause.I'm not sure about these cars but my other car has a vacuum pump that has little tubes coming out operate a few things like this. Once my speed control tube came loose and that affected every other system operated by vacuum.

Default Hit it with a hammer

Pop the hood. Turn on the car so that the climate control is on. Look at the fire wall on the passenger side of the car. You will see the a round thing on the fire wall. tap it with a hammer... Dont beat the crap out of it..... Just tap it. This should start the fan spinning and hopefully solve your problem.

sounds like a door actuator isnt working in your vent system to switch the location where the air goes... look under the dash and find the rods that have actuators attached and move your controls to see if they are moving. ....

the auto temp controls are usually controlled by a sensor under the hood on the heater core lines... it has vacuum lines and electrical going to it... 2 wire plug and 2 vac lines... you can clip the wires, connect them together and then block the vacuum lines and make it work if you dont have the money to replace the sensor
