How difficult is it to replace the front shocks on a 2005 Grand Marquis. I'm not sure whether the car has shocks or struts.


I was checking one of the repair manuals and it said to remove the front brake assembly-- is this necessary? When looking under the hood, I see a disc with three nuts. In the center of the disc is the end of the shock. The repair manual said not to remove the shock nut first. Do the other three nuts need to me removed first? What is the purpose of the disc-- to serve as a mounting plate for the shock? Thanx for the help.
