Does anyone here know of a product that can get the brake dust out of the holes for these rims?



I've tried different solutions and tools but it never gets it all. Any suggestions will be tried.

I'd be carefully with "trying any suggestions". I strongly recommend staying away from that LOL


If you have old dust on it, which is partially burned in already, than a 80/20 mixture of brake cleaner/brake fluid can be used. I did that on really bad rims, and it worked well. I use a brush which I dip in the solution, apply it and scrub right away. Works excellent.


However, I would try a good wheel cleaner first. Read and follow the instructions carefully. I used some a few years ago, the bottle said to let it soak in for 15 minutes. You should give it that time. I would also get a bug sponge. It wont damage the rims, but has a more scrubbing effect.


If that doesn't do the trick, then I would go with the mixture mentioned above. Make sure to rinse the rims well when done, immediately after.


And to prevent further issues: wax your wheel, then you only have to spray them with a regular garden hose if done once a week.

what about on chrome plated factory rims? my 06 has those and I want to make sure they stay nice and shiney [img]smileys/smiley17.gif[/img]

 

I used degreaser once...i diluted it some but it got the job done...lol but that wheel acid does do a good jobEdited by: surfingpolock

 

I"m picky about my rims on any car haha...hate seeing people driving around with nice rims and they have brake dust all inside them lol
