I replaced mine with regular autolite resistor plugs. with a stock engine, you should run stock style plugs unless you're planning on upgrading more than just the bog standard stuff (fresh air intake and dual exhaust). as for torque specs, I don't think I've ever check the specs. I just make them good and snug. Typically it's a quarter turn past snug.

I recall 10 to 13 ft lbs as the spark plug torque spec, but I caution using that spec with anti sieze compound.

I recommend using anti sieze, but a very small amount. I think I used 7 ft lbs of torque when I did this job on my old Crown Vic.

AutoLite double plat plugs are very good for the 4.6l V8.

Let us know how you make out! Take care, Bill

OK, I just looked up the spec for spark plug torque, and it is listed at 15 ft lbs 'typical'. I think with anti sieze you could use 10 ft lbs and be fine.

Good Luck, Bill
