I have a question. My 1998 MGM transwas 2 quarts low. It was taking a second to go into gear. That was fixed after adding the fluid, now it is shifting hard like a shift kit. The thing is when it was low on fluid it shifted perfect when driving except for the second it took to go into gear when I take it out of park. Now the darn thing is shifting like i put in a shift kithas this ever happened to anyone? and will it go away. Should I change all the trans fluid or give it some time? The car has 269K on it but it runs great. I think the car at one time had a motor and trans replacement because it runs very well for 269K. I don not want to blow the trans. Please help if you have had this happen before

it is better for it to shift harder as opposed to soft shifting. think of a manual transmission... would you let the clutch slip its way into gear and burn the clutch or let it shift a little stiffer so to not burn the clutch?
